WHAT MIFF shorts

WHERE Moonlight Cinema, Royal Botanic Gardens

WHEN Tomorrow, gates open 7pm

TICKETS $15, $13, moonlight.com.au

THESE shorts were the pick of the bunch at the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) last year, so it's only appropriate that they get an encore screening under the stars. Tomorrow a selection of short films from Denmark, Australia and Belgium. Four films will screen including Dennis by Danish director Mads Matthiesen, the MIFF Best Short Film for 2008. The film tells of an introverted bodybuilder and mummy's boy who invites a local girl out on a date. Other films include I Love Sarah Jane, a zombie love story; MIFF's Best Experimental Short Film winner Mumbler and the animated short Chainsaw, which moves between "fact and fiction, past and present". Films usually start at sundown but be sure to get there early to stake out a good spot.
